Lagavulin 8 Year Old
Notes:
Nose: Peaty
Palate: Peaty
A strong smoke for 8yo, and I might be having a bad day, but really all I can taste is the peat and strong alcohol.

Millstone 4 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Notes:
Nose: Fruity, cakey
Palate: so complex! Chocolatey, bitter, malty? I'm starting to recognise something familiar in the taste with all those that claim "orange peel", but that's not an immediate description that comes to me. Yet.

Scarabus
Notes:
Nose: SMOKE! Sea air
Palate: smoke, again, salty but a little rough, made smoother with a tiny drop of water.
Nice to mix, but that might be doing it a disservice.

Bruichladdich 10 Year Old 2012 Bere Barley
Pronounced Brook-laddy
Notes:
Nose: bright, feirce/spicy, especially for a 10yo
Palate: again, not as smooth as I'd expect from an aged single.
I definitely feel too unrefined to enjoy this. I kept thinking I needed to rinse my mouth, but it only made a difference after I sipped some cola, and it made a difference.
Not for me.

anCnoc 18 Year Old (pron: Ann-ock)
Notes:
Nose: sweet, very gentle on the nose.
Palate: tempted to say creamy but that's more to do with how very smooth this is. Another fruity taste, like but more like a boozy trifle than a sponge cake.
How wonderful that this comes from a distillery in Huntly. I spent many years on holiday in Keith, with it's beautiful Strathisla. If I ever travel that far north again, I shall make a slight detour. Time to add to the many old memories, and make new ones.

Old Pulteney Pineau des Charentes - Coastal Series (The Maritime Malt)
Notes:
Nose: fruity, think I'm learning what "orange peel" is
Palate: sweet, creamy caramel, but of a bite in the aftertaste.

Wormtub 10 Year Old – Batch 2
Notes:
Nose: fruity-ish, peppery
Palate: creamy, full of flavour, but I can't name them.
This is a strong 48%, so I added a couple drops of (aired, room temp, tap) water after my initial sips, and it smoothed it right out. Toffee from the creaminess. Still a fierce pepper bite afterwards.

Penderyn Rich Oak
Today I learned how to say Pen-Derrin!
Notes:
Nose: Fruity, and chocolate! First time I've noticed this in a whisky.
Palate: light, dry, vanilla, fruity

Three Ships 12 Year Old
Notes:
Nose: Woody! Burned wood, with a somewhat medicinal smell
Palate: Liquorice root, dry, smokey rather than peaty. The medicinal smell isn't in the taste.

Glengoyne The Legacy Series Chapter Three
Honey - a spicy sweetness to the nose, and really easy to sip, caramel-y without being too sweet. A really easy drink.
